Obituaries and Death Notices
The Woolworth Library has digitized a large collection of obituaries and death notices from local papers. The index document is alphabetized by last name and includes the corresponding PDF page number, the newspaper, date the obituary was printed, date of death, and any spouse names.

RootsWeb hosts genealogy websites, databases, message boards, and mailing lists. All services are free and include a wide selection of genealogy search engines (Social Security Death Index, RootsWeb Surname List, etc.). Get started with the RootsWeb’s Guide To Tracing Family Trees. Ancestry.com acquired RootsWeb in June 2000.
FamilySearch
The Family History Library of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sponsors this Internet genealogy service. Search for ancestors in the Library’s Ancestral File, Pedigree Resource File, and International Genealogical Index or browse Family History Web Sites by topic (for example, Places > Connecticut or Migration > Emigration and Immigration). The Research Guidance section serves as a virtual research assistant to help you locate records from the place your ancestor lived (for example, Connecticut, United States).
The USGenWeb Project

Colonial Connecticut Records
All 15 volumes of The Public Records of the Colony of Connecticut, from April 1636 to October 1776 (Hartford: Brown & Parsons. 1850-1890) are now online.
