Harpsichord manufacturing is one of Stonington’s hidden treasures! For more than forty years, Stonington has been a center of harpsichord production, and home to Zuckermann Harpsichords International, the largest harpsichord workshop in the United States producing historically informed instruments. This keyboard instrument originated in the 15th century and after losing popularity in the 19th century has experienced a revival among early music enthusiasts in recent years.  Elena Zamolodchikova works at Zuckermann Harpsichords International and will perform on a harpsichord donated by the company.

Ms. Zamolodchikova specialized in historical keyboard performance at the Julliard School before joining Zuckermann as harpsichordist in residence.
