Venture Smith in Stonington; A Family Affair

Join Professors Nancy Steenburg and Elizabeth Kading as they present their findings from their most recent research into the life of Venture Smith, and the prevalence of enslavement along the Connecticut coastline. This project was made possible by a generous grant from the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development. If you think you know the story of slavery in the North, and particularly in our little corner of Connecticut, be sure not to miss this one because there’s so much to learn!
