Collect your piece of Stonington history! These pitchers were made to commemorate the Battle of Stonington. Only 100 were produced by Mottahedeh for the Stonington Historical Society, so they truly are a collector’s item, and each pitcher is numbered. Porcelain. Measures 7.5 inches tall by 7 inches wide (spout to handle). Front depicts the English attack on the Borough with the quote: “The Gallant Defence of Stonington, August 9, 1814. Stonington is free whilst her Heroes have one gun left.” The back features a quote from Francis Scott Key, “Thus be it ever, when free men shall stand between their loved homes and the war’s desolation.”
