Your gift enables us to do so much! We are proud of a collection of historic manuscripts and artifacts over a century in the making. The Stonington Historical Society preserves and maintains five historic buildings on four properties. We are a community with more than four hundred years of shared experience. Lighthouse Capital Campaign
The Old Lighthouse Museum, built in 1840 and acquired by the Society in 1925, is in serious need of restoration and renovation. A hard earned permit from Stonington Borough Planning & Zoning was issued in 2017 to renovate the Lighthouse and to add a small addition to the rear in order to provide universal access. We are currently working with a dedicated committee and the firm of Oudens-Ello Architecture and hope to begin construction in the fall of 2020.
