Threads of History

Captain Palmer House

"Our quilts were more than useful, they had the faint sentimentality of a pressed flower. And no more beauty. We did not value them for their appearance, but for the memories in them, their good wearing qualities and the thrift they represented." - Rose Wilder Lane

Calling all Quilters! From September 22nd to October 1st the Palmer House and Woolworth Library will feature a display of stunning quilts from our collection. This exhibit is included with the price of admission to the Captain Nathaniel B. Palmer House. Learn about the women of Stonington's past, and marvel over their skill and dedication. You'll be surprised at how vibrant the colors are, and walk away with a new appreciation of the artform.
