Lobster Lady

Vivian Volovar has been lobstering commercially in the waters of Fishers Island Sound and Eastern Long Island Sound since 1978. She spends half the year aboard her 31-foot boat Andy’s Girl, hauling 125 pots a day, all by herself. The rest of her year is spent repairing equipment and maintaining her boat, in the company of her cat T.C. She is known up and down the coast as the “Lobster Lady.”
